All of us wished that license more than anything at that age. We were anxious to put our hand on it and own it. In our vision this was like an unique ticket to a free life, to travel wherever we wanted, as far as we wanted and as long as we wanted. This meant for us the maximum level of freedom at that time. But now, when we look back, we realize it was not such a great chance. It meant, indeed, the having possibility of traveling without our parents.

At what age did you received the driver license?

 Many of us had it as first as we had the chance, meaning, 16 years old. It was probably because we were so anxious in having it. In certain parts of the world, some people can obtain a learner permit, so they can drive when they turn 14 years old. I look at the teenagers today and their thinking and mentality surprises me more and more every day.

The majority of these young people don’t even care about having a license. Are things so different nowadays? Teenagers just wait for the right moment, the moment they think it’s right. And in the end, they also obtain the license, but they aren’t so glad and anxious as we used to be 16 years ago.

An inconvenience for drivers is that if they move, they also have to change their license. You have to test again for a new one. But, you like it or not, a drivers license is something we need everyday.
